Product descriptors that are part of the current product names will remain the same, according to a company release. For example, Dow Corning 983 Structural Glazing Sealant will become Dowsil 983 Structural Glazing Sealant.

Dow Corning has been a major player in the silicone sealants industry for more than seventy years and has developed many silicone technologies for industrial bonding that are still in use today. The company, previously a partner of Dow Chemical Company, has now been restructured so that Dow owns 100 percent of the silicone sealants business.
