Published: 10.18.2024

According to the latest data from Canalys, Lenovo continues to lead the global PC market. In the third quarter of 2024, Lenovo's global PC shipments reached 16.5 million units, a year-on-year increase of 3%, and its market share increased to 24.8%.

In the third quarter of 2024, the overall global PC market shipments increased by 1.3% year-on-year to 66.4 million units. Among them, the shipment of notebook computers increased the most, reaching 53.5 million units, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%. In contrast, the shipment of desktop computers declined, down 4.6% year-on-year to 12.9 million units. The market demand for portable computers remains strong, especially those equipped with advanced technology.

After Lenovo, HP and Dell ranked second and third in the global PC market, respectively. HP shipped 13.5 million units, the same as the same period last year, with a market share of 20.4%. Dell shipped 9.8 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 4%, with a market share of 14.8%. It is worth noting that Apple's shipments fell sharply by 17.5% in this quarter to only 5.1 million units, and its market share dropped to 7.7%, which was mainly due to Apple's shortcomings in product innovation and market demand.
