Kine SIC Semi to Invest $200 Million in High-Tech Chip Factory in Vietnam

A leading semiconductor company from the United States, Kine SIC Semi, is planning to invest approximately $200 million in the northern province of Bac Ninh by constructing a factory specialized in high-tech chip production.  

During a meeting on February 28th, Mr. Vương Quốc Tuấn, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, welcomed representatives from Kine SIC Semi led by Mr. Johnny Nguyen, Vice Chairman of the company's Board of Directors, to explore investment opportunities in the province. 

Kine SIC Semi, specializes in high-tech chip production applicable across various sectors producing high-quality, cost-effective chip products are particularly suitable for the Southeast Asian market.  

With Vietnam being a promising land with ample resources for chip production, the company aims to establish a factory in Vietnam, covering an area of 7,500m². 

Mr. Tuấn emphasized Bac Ninh's goal to become the semiconductor hub of the country. He highlighted the province's efforts to streamline administrative procedures and improve the investment environment to actively attract investments. Furthermore, Bac Ninh is keen on issuing resolutions to support semiconductor industry investment, training, and high-quality workforce development. 

The province assured its readiness to provide the most favorable conditions for Kine SIC Semi's investment. Additionally, in late October 2023, during a visit to Bac Ninh, the President of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) of the United States, Mr. John Neuffer, praised Vietnam's potential and emphasized its importance in the global semiconductor supply chain.  

He shared insights on approaching the semiconductor industry for Vietnam and Bac Ninh province, hoping for continued determination from Bac Ninh's leadership to promote conditions for semiconductor industry development in the future.  

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, expressed his desire for SIA to facilitate visits and engagements of US semiconductor companies to Vietnam and Bac Ninh, focusing on connecting the province with US semiconductor enterprises, supporting Bac Ninh in workforce training, particularly in high-quality semiconductor industry personnel.
