Vishay / Aztronic

Aztronic is a leading European name in inductors and transformers. The Vishay Aztronic portfolio of inductors and transformers includes both surface-mount and through-hole built on windings (manual, semi-automatic or automatic) and on planar technology. Included is a wide range of products such as inductors and transformers for power supplies, and network transformers, data transformers, and current transformers for industrial, avionics, military, and aerospace applications. Package styles with a variety of terminations on ceramic or lead-frame are included in the range. The products are manufactured in facilities that are approved to ISO 9001. They can be tested in accordance with NF, EN, CECC, CEI, and ESA-SCC regulations, as well as many customer specifications.

Aztronic, a manufacturer of inductors and transformers that was acquired by Vishay in 1991, is merged with Vishay Sfernice. Vishay, founded in 1962 by Dr. Felix Zandman, began operations with foil resistors and strain gages as its initial product offerings. In 1985, Vishay began an ongoing series of strategic acquisitions to become a broad-line manufacturer of electronic components.

Vishay’s acquisitions include such top names as Siliconix, Telefunken, the infrared component business of Infineon, General Semiconductor, Dale, Draloric, Sprague, Vitramon, and BCcomponents (former passive components businesses of Philips Electronics and Beyschlag). Acquisitions also include selected discrete semiconductor and module product lines from International Rectifier®, a tantalum capacitor product line from KEMET, the resistor businesses of Huntington Electric (composed of Huntington, Milwaukee, Central, and Mills Resistors), HiRel Systems, MCB Industrie, Holy Stone Polytech, and Capella Microsystems.

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors (diodes, MOSFETs and infrared optoelectronics) and passive electronic components (resistors, inductors and capacitors). These components are used in virtually all types of electronic devices and equipment in the industrial, computing, automotive, consumer, telecommunications, military, aerospace, power supplies, and medical markets. Vishay’s product innovations, successful acquisition strategy and “one-stop shop” service have made it a global industry leader.
